Grace For Healing
God wants you well
healing in his wings

To conclude our series on the woman with the issue of blood, just why did she touch the hem of his garment? I wonder if she had revelation that healing is in his wings as was prophesied by Malachi.

The Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;

Malachi 4:2

This woman with the issue represents, to me, someone with a chronic illness, so I read her story with passion and identification.

HEALING IN HIS WINGS

The hem of Jesus’ garment was called the Tekhelet; from the root word Kahlah which means ‘finished’. It is this word ‘Kahlah’ that Jesus shouted on the cross. (Jesus spoke Aramaic).

The woman with the issue of blood knew to touch the hem of His garment, she had revelation that she was touching the finished work of Jesus. (Even though He had not yet died). She knew Her healing was in His wings.

Jesus died for our bodies to be well. The famous verse ‘by his stripes we are healed’ is referring to the body of Jesus, broken for our healing.

The tekhelet was blue. There is debate as to what blue means in Scripture, some people teach that it means grace but others disagree. I don’t really know the answer, but it makes sense that it means grace.

The woman touched the finished work, she touched grace.

God has lovingly made provision for us for our healing. To touch the finished work, or grace, means to appropriate Christ’s death and resurrection.

We don’t need to earn it or add to it, we are already complete and now we walk in light of that. We believe our healing before we see it. This is New Covenant healing by faith.

THE BODY OF JESUS

It’s not the prayer cloth or the hem that is the source of the Dunamis power. It’s the person who is wearing it. Power and healing flowed out from His body into the hem of His garment, into the wings of the Tekhelet.

The body of Jesus represents our healing. This is why we partake of bread during Holy Communion.

Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Matt 26:26

If you haven’t already done so, take a read of THE HEALING POWER OF THE HOLY COMMUNION

When you partake of the Holy Communion you are saying thank you for that healing. And if that healing is yet to manifest in the natural realm, it’s an act of faith.

In essence, you touch the hem of his garment, you touch the finished work. You’re acknowledging the significance of His broken body and what it means for your healing.

The Body of Christ also refers to The Church; that is all those who have accepted Jesus are now ‘members’ of His Body.

Whilst we belong to different denominations and churches, we are all THE BODY.

THE BODY = THE CHURCH

If you want to receive a healing, you cannot separate yourself from The Church.

‘Beth’ in Scripture means ‘house’. When Jesus heals the man at the pool of Bethesda, He was saying that Healing is found in the house of God, the church.

Just as a flower needs the right conditions for growth, you and I need the right environment for our healing. Are you in an environment of faith, safety and love?

I’m talking about The Church, The Body.

I remember when I was first unwell I went through a period of months where I just didn’t go to church. My thinking at the time was ‘my life is over’: the depression was overwhelming.

I couldn’t bear to be surrounded by people who were healthy and living life whilst my life had just stopped.

Of course, The Holy Spirit can heal anywhere but separating yourself from church life will hinder you from receiving what’s yours.

THE TOUCH OF GOD

The woman in our story was looking to touch God. Not like we see people touching celebrities but she touched him for a purpose.

She had intention and expectation; with a faith to receive.

The woman knew He was the Son of God, the Messiah who loves, forgives and heals. She pursued an encounter that would transform her world; she wanted to experience the touch of God.

And as many as touched Him were made well.

Mark 6:56

I’m sure you’re familiar with the famous painting called The Creation of Adam; painted by Michaelangelo in the Sistine chapel.

It shows the fingers of Adam and God almost touching but not quite. This makes me quite sad because it suggests that there is a distance between us and our Father.

God is closer than you think.

If you need a healing, like this woman, reach out and touch Him. He has dunamis healing power that is flowing into His wings all the time

HIS HEALING POWER IS GREATER THAN YOUR SICKNESS

I can have a voice in my head that reminds me how long this illness is continuing. I know that I dilute my faith if I sit and dwell on these thoughts.

So then I need to talk back to myself and say ‘The man at the pool of Bethesda was lame 38 years……the miracle is on it’s way.

In an instant, the power of God touched this woman and healed her, despite 12 years of illness.

Can you see each day with fresh eyes and not allow your minds to go to the past. All you have is right now.

Each time you pray, you touch the hem of his garment. You are declaring to yourselves and to the world that you know the answer is at the Cross.

Please remember that if this amazing lady can press into God for healing despite the odds, then so can you.

YOU CAN DO THIS AND YOU CAN DO THIS VICTORIOUSLY.

I love you. Do reach out if you ned extra prayer and support.

God bless
