Grace For Healing
God wants you well

This post will teach you the simple Biblical formula for healing in the Word of God.

Have you ever prayed and prayed, thinking that you would awake one morning to find all symptoms disappear?

Only to wake up the next day to be disappointed.

Now I share with you the 2 step formula for healing in the Bible.

Keep on reading:

If you pray and pray for healing but you’re not spending time in the Word, then your prayers are the same as watering barren ground.

There needs to be seed for a harvest.

Or perhaps you’re going to one Healing conference after another, in the hope that you’ll receive.

Of course nothing wrong with this, but oftentimes it just isn’t God’s will for some people to receive a healing on the back of someone else’s faith.

If you want a healing from God, the best thing you can do is develop the desire to spend time in the Word and grow your own faith.

This is a 2 step formula.

We all love a shortcut. It’s common to want the quick McDonald’s fix?

I guess we all want someone to lay hands on us so we can instantly see the physical results in our bodies so we can move on with our lives.

This is a McDonald’s healing which isn’t always God’s best for us. Healing has no shortcut; there is a hidden formula in Scripture we just can’t ignore. A formula which takes time…..

HEALING IN THE WORD OF GOD

You don’t earn healing, you don’t need to deserve it. But this doesn’t mean it just falls from heaven because you want it.

REMEMBER WE GET WHAT JESUS DESERVES.

If you want a supernatural healing in your body, you need to understand that faith comes by hearing

See THE 4 DIFFERENT WAYS GOD HEALS

Of course, It’s not right to accuse someone who is unwell that they’re not healed because of a lack of faith, this is cruel and unfair, but this doesn’t mean that faith is irrelevant.

MAKE FAITH THE CRUCIAL INGREDIENT.

You have been saved by grace but you accessed this by faith. It’s the same with your healing. The grace of God heals you but you still need to access this grace through faith.

Faith comes by hearing.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.

Romans 5 1-2

Faith doesn’t cause God to move; it gives you a way of gaining admission to it. (Strong’s concordance).

I sometimes think of faith as a door to a cupboard. If you want to access the God’s healing, then open the door.

HOW FAITH COMES BY HEARING

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God

Rom 10:17

Keep on hearing and hearing until you hear with your heart………… Sometimes this takes a long time.

Without hearing the word of God, you’ll forget God is a good God. You’ll doubt his willingness to heal and you won’t have strength for the journey.

Why? Because all of these things are against the natural so depend upon a renewed mind.

HEALNG IN THE WORD OF GOD

..vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases.

Luke 5:15

Joseph Prince and Kenneth Hagin teach that there is a pattern for healing in the Bible.

Can you notice from this verse that the multitude came to hear Jesus first? then they got their healing; the hearing preceded the victory.

The patterns repeat throughout Scripture.

Check out this healing in Luke’s Gospel:

a great number of people…had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all

Luke 6:17-19

This is so exciting. All those Jesus healed in this instance, came to hear him first, then they experienced their healing.

When you hear and hear and hear……..faith effortlessly springs forth within you. Faith is the door that gives you access to the cupboard filled with grace.

In Acts we read of the healing of a paralysed man. Isn’t it interesting that he continually sat in a position to hear the Word Paul was preaching?

He sat there day after day, night after night, hearing Paul preach. This made him ready to receive his miracle. It’s the same pattern once again: Hearing the Word of God, followed by healing

In Lystra there was a certain man who lacked strength in his legs. He had been crippled since birth and had never walked. Sitting there, he heard Paul speaking. Paul stared at him and saw that he believed he could be healed.

Acts 14:8-9

This man didn’t just believe the Word mentally, it had reached his heart. Your heart is where your belief systems live.

REFUSING TO HEAR HIM

In contrast to the examples above, those who needed healing in Nazareth, refused to hear Jesus. They had a lack of honour in their hearts.

How sad they didn’t get their healing. (Mark 6:5)

In Heb 4:2 we read of the Israelites who lacked faith. Why? Because they only heard the Word it once. We wire in those patterns and strongholds even if they oppose the Word,

Reading it once, just wouldn’t be enough to replace faulty wiring.

The disciples grew anxious during the storm even though Jesus told them to ‘go to the other side’. They only heard with their natural ears, not their hearts.

Are you hearing God with your ears or your heart?

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS

I don’t think God wants you to put pressure on yourself to be in the Word or to have more faith for healing. This then puts you back into trying to deserve or earn your healing. It’s all about Jesus.

Your faith is in Him; his goodness, his love, his willingness, his nature, his heart…. Your eyes need to be on him, and not whether you have enough faith.

Can you learn to speak the Word over yourself? (Ps 107:20)

healing word of god

This verse shows that God had to send his Word out first, then the healing follows. This is an awesome truth. Every time you speak the Word of God, you’re developing your faith and capacity to receive.

So simple

If Jesus healed the multitudes after they heard the Word, imagine the healings we’d all experience in our churches when we hear and hear again.
